Randal Schwartz on Git

Here’s a nice introduction into Git by Randal Schwartz.
I recently managed to convince my co-workers to give SVN a try, hopefully replacing CVS after successfully migrating some smaller modules. After watching this speak I think that SVN is better suited for our functioning. Still, the following aspects of Git sound especially appealing to me.
- tracking of content instead of containers (files)
- no pollution of the lower levels of directories in a working copy (as opposed to CVS or SVN)
- transparency layer for hard-to-convince CVS users
- merging multiple individual commits into a single one
